WINE THEMES

Quick cheatsheet on installation of MS-Windows themes into wine. You will need to procure a .theme or .msstyles file first.

PURE WINECFG METHOD

  1. Run winecfg on the prefix
  2. Goto "Desktop Integration" -> "Install theme..." button -> Select the msstyle
  3. Goto "Desktop Integration" -> "Theme" pulldown -> Pick that theme
  4. Goto "Desktop Integration" -> "WinRT Theme" pulldown -> Pick that theme's dark/light mode.

ALTERNATE MORE MANUAL METHOD

  1. Copy folder of theme with the .msstyles to : $wineprefix/drive_c/windows/resources/themes/
  2. Run winecfg on the prefix
  3. Goto "Desktop Integration" -> "Theme" pulldown -> Pick that theme
  4. Goto "Desktop Integration" -> "WinRT Theme" pulldown -> Pick that theme's dark/light mode.
